What will your ‘typical’ day look like… (there’s no two days the same in Atom):

Here at Atom, we are working towards achieving an A-IRB waiver. As a Credit Risk Modeller, you’ll join a team focused on enhancing our credit risk modelling capability. Your work will centre around supporting the building and monitoring of a full suite of Credit Risk models, as Atom continues its journey towards becoming an IRB accredited bank.

You’ll also support regulatory and compliance initiatives within Risk such as IFRS9 models and stress testing, credit risk scorecards and simulation models to optimise operational processes and to quantify & manage operational risks.

This role would be suitable for a Junior Data Scientist, Analyst or Modeller looking to move into Fintech, where you’ll have opportunity to hone and develop your modelling skills.

You will also:

  • Develop & implement various types of predictive modelling
  • Deliver end-user solutions to enable customers to utilise predictive models and to perform what-if analyses
  • Provide peer review and challenge to analysis and models developed by other members of the team
  • Monitor and maintain existing models
  • Deliver analysis to support key strategic projects, regular reporting & business performance
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging best practices in credit risk modelling

What do we need from you?

  • Degree in a numerate discipline (e.g. Maths/Statistics/Economics or similar) with a high degree of statistics.
  • Experience of data analysis tools, such as R, Python or SAS or similar
  • Sound understanding of one or more modelling techniques e.g. support vector machines, linear & logistic regression, neural networks, decision trees
  • Good communication skills
  • A self-starter with excellent time management skills.
