As a Model Validation Analyst, you’ll play an essential role in ensuring that model and data oversight is robust as Atom continues on its journey to achieve an A-IRB waiver. In doing so, Atom aspires to demonstrate that it implements standards suitable for a bank of its size and complexity to all aspects of data and model driven decision making.

Atom uses data, insight, and technology to provide superior products and services to our customers. In this role you’ll be part of a team supporting the independent validation of all models across the bank, including credit models (IRB, IFRS9, loss forecast & scorecards), financial, pricing and treasury models.

You will also:

  • Review numerical implementation of model design choices and assumptions.
  • Review and validate any internal or external data used in the models.
  • Ensure models are validated in line with UK regulatory requirements (CRR, SS11/13. SS1/23).
  • Prototype challenger models to strengthen independent validation outcomes when appropriate.
  • Drive what findings and actions should come from reviews.
  • Present those findings and actions to stakeholders and relevant committees

What do we need from you?

  • Degree in a numerate discipline (e.g. Maths/Statistics/Economics or similar) with a high degree of statistics or comparable qualification or experience.
  • Experience of data analysis tools, such as R or similar.
  • Experience of developing or validating Credit or Financial models.
  • Working knowledge of statistics and econometrics
  • Good interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
  • Proactive, flexible and able to work under own initiative
  • Confident, assertive and pragmatic approach.
  • Ability to translate technical details to non-technical audiences.
