As a Security Operations Engineer at Atom bank you’ll sit within our dedicates SecOps team that protect, detect, respond and recover to Atom’s customers, brand, people and reputation. Our SecOps team design, develop & deliver the security model for Atom’s cloud environment and you’ll provide practical advice and guidance whilst advocating best in class security practice.

You’ll have input into the design and implementation of security requirements across projects and security operations and collaborate with Atom’s Engineering & Project teams to deliver secure solutions. This role identifies security requirements and gaps in our infrastructure, applications & processes and implements the appropriate controls. You’ll also develop and participate in architecture reviews, providing a viewpoint from a security perspective.

What will your ‘typical’ day look like…. (there’s no two days the same in Atom):

You will:

  • Lead and develop processes for security operational tasks and tooling. E.g. SIEM, EDR, Vulnerability Management
  • Scope, conduct and assess complex penetration testing.
  • Identify security threats and converting this to a material impact.
  • Provide Audit and risk assessment support.
  • Manage and assess Security risk in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
  • Regular report generation and presentation.
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of threat intelligence, industry trends, and relevant product offerings.
  • Ensure the Atom security policy is communicated to and followed by all staff and assist management with investigation of breaches.
  • Manage user administration of high-level financial systems
  • Maintenance of 3rd party connectivity
