We’re transforming banking, join us

We’re the UK’s first bank built exclusively for mobile. We’re redefining what a bank should be, making things easier, transparent and better value in the world of finance.

Our background

Founded April 2014, in Durham, we’re a strong and unified team, led by a supportive Chairman and Board.

Our offering

We currently offer Fixed Rate and Instant Access Savings products, Business Banking Secured Loans and Retail Mortgages.

Our credentials

Authorised by the PRA and regulated by the FCA and the PRA, we’re also members of the FSCS; all of which delivers reassurance to both customers and investors.

Business model and strategy

Atom’s business model is designed to be simple, highly automated and low cost. Focusing on retail deposits, residential mortgage and SME lending markets, we have a model that is built for scale.

Our strategy is focused on increasing market share in these products at a low marginal cost per customer, resulting in a significantly lower cost:asset ratio to mainstream and specialist lenders.

Our cost advantage will be passed on to the customer in the form of better value products and support our growth ambitions, whilst still generating attractive and sustainable returns on equity.

Governance

Running a bank can be complex and creates a number of risks.

Effective risk management is a core part of our strategy and is integral to being an authorised and credible bank.

We’ve created a strong team and organisational structure to ensure the business is appropriately managing these risks.

Our Board of Directors is responsible for the overall governance of the Bank. Good corporate governance underpins the integrity of Atom and the wider community in which we operate. Our success is predicated on a framework of effective systems of internal control, risk management and compliance, in accordance with regulatory requirements.

For more information on our Business Model, Strategy & Governance take a look at our latest Annual Report.

Who runs the show?

The Executive team, under the leadership of our Chief Executive Mark Mullen, is responsible for executing the strategy for the business and the day to day running of Atom.
